Considering a Comprehensive Psychoeducational Evaluation For Your Child?

When considering a comprehensive psychoeducational evaluation, most of our parents find themselves conflicted with one or more of these feelings: anxiety and fear that their child may have a disability, inquiries on what their child’s future will look like, relief to finally obtain answers to why their child is struggling, and hope that the answers will provide the help their child needs to excel academically.

Remember, you are not alone and this is a team effort between you and the school. If at any point you become confused or have questions regarding the referral process, testing, or Individual Educational Plan (IEP) it is your right to ask questions. We are here to help, but we strongly encourage you to contact your school psychologists, teacher, or principal first. For information regarding our advocacy packages simply click on the link below.

Let's Get Started

About Our Founder

Growing up a special education student herself, Maria understands how being labeled with a learning disability or handicapping condition can have a negative impact on a child. These labels can imprint feelings of shame, guilt, helplessness, and brokenness. She takes on a vision and is determined to make it a reality. Her goal is for children to have access to every possible resource and enable them to excel emotionally and academically throughout their educational endeavors.

Maria is knowledgeable in the global dynamics of special education, with over 19 years of professional experience. She understands how the special education process can leave parents and guardians at a standstill feeling overwhelmed, lost, and confused. No one knows your child better than you, this is why Maria created this platform – to work with you so that together we may advocate for your child’s educational rights.

Maria is bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural. She fluently speaks and writes in English and Spanish. She is a visionary, a scholar, a successful entrepreneur, and Founder of Special Education Assessments and Support (SEAS), a nonprofit corporation that thrives in advocating and providing resources for special needs children and troubled youth. Maria has ample experience working in the academic sector; she holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology and Communications from San Jose State University, a Master of Art’s (M.A.) in Educational Psychology, a Pupil Personnel Service (PPS) credential, and an Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree from Chapman University.
